On the way out stopped to take this photo as I would imagine that at some point in the past this was a really cool place to call home. Double fireplaces were certainly needed as the elev is just at 7000 ft.
We just saw "The Man from Snowy River" on HBO the other night (by the way, what gorgeous scenery in that film!) and this house reminds me of the place the old prospector, miner, "mountain man" character played by Kirk Douglas, lived in. I think his name was "Spur". Hmmm, I wonder if the man who lived in this house also had a peg leg because his jealous brother shot his foot off after they fell in love with the same woman?
