Raton, NM


Since we will be in the area for the month of July, thought a few photo's of this small northern New Mexico town would be in order. Raton has just over 6,000 residents (down from over 7,000 in 2000) and sits just over 6600 ft elevation. The above photo was taken of the downtown area. No real large retailers in the town but certainly seems to be a really nice rural place to spend time.

1,000 residents have left since the year 2000? That sounds suspicious! Looks wonderfully peaceful there though and very charming.
