Gila Cliff Dwelling National Monument

A look inside the center dwelling. That structure on the right side (in front of the volunteer worker) was a storage space probably for their food supplies.

These are cool pictures of the dwellings and GILA NF. It's incredibly beautiful there. Thank you for sharing what you are learning during your visits to each place, it is fascinating. We love archeology and have visited the Mesa Verde National Monument cliff dwellings in Colorado. It's so wonderful how the park service has preserved most of the sites...it helps us to be able to imagine how it was living there so many years ago for the Sinagua & early Natives. Dave says they had it made...NO mortgages to worry about ! haha...he'd gladly trade running water and central heating & air for that any day! ;-)
