The above pic was taken from the summit parking lot off Hwy 89 (approx 8700 ft). This is as close to the Mt. Lassen peak that you can get without hiking up the mountain. In the center toward the bottom of this photo you may be able to see two hikers (to the left of the trees) just starting to ascend the summit above.
