Mt. Lassen

The sulphur vents are right next to the highway seen on the left. A short wooden boardwalk allows visitors to get very close.

Mt. Lassen

Sulphur steam rising out of a vent hole.

A closer look at one of the vent holes. You can actually hear the water boiling from about 15 ft away. Still smells like sulphur though.

McArthur/Burney Falls

Burney Falls is part of the McArthur/Burney Falls State Park located about 45 minutes east of Mt Lassen on Hwy 89 just past the town of Burney. This park was listed as a very good day trip. Glad we made the effort.

This state park also has a great hiking trail that follows the water into Lake Britton.

What is interesting is that a lot of the water is actually coming out of the rock crevices and not over the falls itself as seen on both sides.

Mt. Lassen/Manzanita Lake

Greetings from Shasta County and Mt. Lassen Volcanic National Park. Our travel from Reno went well but our current location only allows access to the internet via WIFI. That limits the
time to upload photo's. Will upload more pics as our access improves.
The above pic is a view from just inside the Mt. Lassen Nat'l Park entrance while looking at Mt. Lassen via Manzanita Lake. This is a very beautiful park to say the least.
