Santa Cruz Redwoods RV Resort, Felton, CA

Well we finally made it to Felton, CA (8 miles n/of Santa Cruz) and the Santa Cruz Redwoods RV Resort. This park has been recently purchased and is still being renovated at this writing. It is set in the coastal redwoods next to the San Lorenzo River. Since we will be spending the summer here wanted to post a few photo's to give an idea of where we are. As we get to a few of the sights in the Santa Cruz area will certainly be posting more photo's. This pic is what is seen as you enter the park from Highway 9.

A view looking south at the main roadway. That building in the distance is the restrooms w/showers. The laundry building (not visible) is next to this building as well.

A look at the front door of the activities building. I took this photo from the main deck which is fairly good sized. There is also another deck/barbecue area next to this one as well.

A look at some of the games in the activities building. There are restrooms, tables/chairs, fireplace and a big screen TV in the other half of the building.

Photo of a tent site (w/tent) that is available for rent. The park is planning on adding a few more for those visitors wanting a tenting experience in the redwoods.

A pic of my favorite duo. There are quite a few remnants of old redwoods that once existed.

A look at some of the sites and our site that is really tucked into the redwoods. No need for a shade awning here.

Terrible's Gold Ranch RV Resort, Verdi, NV

Since we came to the Reno area for a family visit, we decided to again stay at this great park about 10 mi north of Reno. A look at the entrance of this RV park.

A look at our site. This is actually the exact spot we were in when we last came this way in '07.

A photo of the small casino next to the RV park. Besides a decent cafe inside, there is a Jack In The Box and gas station just in front.

Upon entering the bar area of this small casino, they took much pride in advertising their display of Bonnie & Clyde's "death car". I was assured that this car is the real deal. A look at the drivers side of their car (along with mannequin's as well).

Grand Canyon - South Rim

After leaving Flagstaff, we drove up to the Grand Canyon and spent two days taking in the sights. For those having been this way, the spectacular vista's are always breathtaking and worth the time to get here. The above photo is the main visitor center. However, there is a long term construction project in and around this site causing a longer walk to the rim.

A look at "Mather Point" one of the main viewpoints near the visitor center

As weather moves across the canyon it certainly provides views contrasting the various shades.

As the clouds were moving in thought this photo looking west would be a good post. The lone individual seen climbed out past the guard rails to get a better look. No one else joined him while we were there.
